An abolitionist is a person who want to abolish(get rid of) slavery. These influential abolitionists spoke their strong opinions on why slavery isn't fair and how the south is not following laws correctly. These people became successful when the 13th amendment was written.
Explain the effects of the Homestead Act, Dawes Act, and the Morrill Act upon the United States.4/9/2015 The effect these acts have upon the United States have to do with land grants Basically if you own so much land you are granted a citizen of the United States this made people want to come to the U.S.
Lincoln's views on equality is that black and white men aren't equal but in the contstitution he intended that all men are created equal. He sides with the union on the opinion of slavery. Jefferson Davis's view on slavery is that slaves are a basic part of life and that white and black men aren't created equal.
This case had to do with slavery expanding into western territories and Dred Scott was a slave and since his owner moved into a free state with him he argues that he is now free but the hearing had since he had to travel through free states he is still under control of his slave owner
The Kansas - Nebraska Act was when Kansas and Nebraska was the decideding if slavery would be allowed in these new state's borders. I disagree with the statement ,"The Civil War actually began in Kansas, not in Fort Sumter."because a starting of a war is when bullets are fired on American soil so this act would actually just be a major cause of the war.
The Missouri Compromise and the Compromise of 1850 were simliar because they both had to do with deciding what states should be free and slave states. They were different because the Compromise of 1850 had to do with more states in the west more than central so the big difference is the location.
This group of men's view on states rights by supporting the area of states and doing what is best for them. They all supported a different region to make our one country a bettr place. John C. Calhoun of the south, Henry Clay of the west, and Daniel Webster of the north. These three men were known as the senatorial giants.
Slavery in the west was attempted to be limited and abolished like the north this law was passed by the house ,however not the senate. The north and south were completly different when it came to slavery. Since the north had rocky soil slavery wasn't needed as much as the south. Once the north became urban slavery died out because they were replaced with factories that did the labor. The south was the biggest region that contributed to slavery due to the large amounts of plantations that needed work to be done for. The impact of all of this is sectionalism because they all had different beliefs instead of one belief which is as country.
